African Butterfly Iris (Fortnight Lily) produces yellow flowers with dark maroon markings which only last for one day but are quick to re-bloom. It will bloom more regularly when watering is frequent. This plant multiplies quickly and can be divided in the Fall for replanting. When planting this Iris . dig the hole twice as wide as the pot and mix rich garden soil in with your native soil . then leave the top of the root ball a half inch above the ground level when filling the hole with soil.
